A powerful legacy of this experience is the close working relationship we like to form with every client's design team, as I was a former student of Inchbald I had an initial grounding in design and it was there that a keen eye for detail was formed.

Today MIC's expertise extends to a range of sectors including high end Residential and Commercial fit-out work both in London and throughout the UK.
In all cases MIC prides itself on hands-on project management and strict cost control.

Services

MIC's strategic approach to every aspect of client Service is through Quality Control, Project Management, Financial Controls and Health and Safety.

Quality Control

This is achieved by having all our own in-house tradesmen, therefore removing the risk of relying on sub-contractors. We pride ourselves on our in-house Bespoke Joinery / Metalwork workshop, where Quality Control from the initial Setting out " Rods " and trial samples through Manufacture, Polishing / Spraying to on-site installations insures that a Quality job is achieved.
We fully appreciate that attention to detail is paramount in the successful completion of a quality job.

Project Management

From setting-out to project completion, the Project Management capabilities of MIC play a crucial role in finalising contracts on schedule and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Designers, we turn creative concepts into reality. MIC co-ordinate all their own labour and manage the Clients or Designers nominated Special Sub-Contractors.

Financial Controls

MIC are acutely aware of the need to provide clients with outstanding value for money. We achieve this through ongoing cost-controls, competitive specialist sub-contractor tendering and financial reporting. Our approach is both efficient and transparent as part of the " Partnership " approach we like to develop with clients. Ongoing monitoring and feedback minimise the effects that any changes in plans / details may have on the original designs and estimates.

Health And Safety Procedures

We are fully committed to Health and Safety compliance. We work to establish industry guidelines and have the required procedures in place to manage Health and Safety issues efficiently and effectively. Our approach involves monitoring the competency and performance of all nominated sub-contractors and ensuring that construction phase Health and Safety plans are followed.

Montagu Square

MIC undertook the complete refurbishment of a Grade 2 listed apartment in Montagu Sq for Waldo Works, we had recently refurbished an apartment for them in Campden Hill Sq. As well as the 2 Bathrooms, Kitchen, Decorating, Specialist Joinery, M&E we also removed the wall between the Living room and the Dining room.

Lancelot Place 7.2

Following previous success, MIC were once again chosen to undertake further high end fit out services at Lancelot Place.

MIC was delighted to be chosen again to undertake another high end fit out for Actium Design at Lancelot Place in Knightsbridge. This is one of several that MIC has done in this prestigious apartment building in Central London.

The work involved the extensive refurbishment of the entire apartment and at the same time incorporating a new bathroom.

A particular point of interest in this residential fit out in the heart of London, was the piano finished cocobola hardwood wall panelling to the hall and living room. The two pairs of full height double doors were manufactured in the same material incorporating mirrored backs and mirror finished nickel trellis work, all done to the highest quality of specialist shopfitting.

Mirus Interior Contracts also did all of the limestone flooring, specialist marble work, decoration, Mechanical & Electrical, Audio Visual, specialist joinery, plumbing and building work.

Beetham Tower

Building developers, Beetham, appointed Mirus Interior Contracts to undertake an extensive fit-out of this new 39 storey building in the centre of Birmingham.

Not only is it the city's tallest building; it's also the most prestigious. As such, Beetham required fit-outs of the highest quality. MIC's initial work was on the seven suites within the hotel (including bedrooms and bathrooms) followed by complete fit-outs of the Presidential Suite, Health Club & Spa. MIC then won a contract for the entire fit-out work of the eight duplex apartments and two penthouses within the Tower.

The site was a virtual shell when the fitting-out first began. MIC's input included the installation of hardwood flooring, stone wall and floor tiling together with the complete fitting of bathrooms and kitchens.

MIC also undertook all the walls and suspended ceilings, decoration, staircases, metal and glass work, standard and specialist joinery (including high quality lacquer work) as well as mechanical, plumbing and electrical services, hardwood screens, lift fit-outs and so on. Much of the work at Beetham Tower involved a considerable amount of planning to transport materials from ground floor level to the highest floors in the building – including the 39th floor in the case of the penthouse fit-outs.

Specialist Joinery

MIC demonstrate specialist joinery skills that were undertaken in recent projects.

MIC has a fully equipped modern factory with our own veneering and polishing shop where a variety of bespoke finishes can be achieved including high gloss polyester (piano finish). Here are a few examples including Kitchens, Wall panelling and 1 off pieces.

Lancelot Place 2.6

Actium Design Ltd chose MIC to undertake the total fit-out of an exclusive apartment at Lancelot Place, Knightsbridge.

MIC were chosen to undertake the total fit-out of an exclusive apartment at Lancelot Place, Knightsbridge as MIC had already worked on a similar fit-out at the address, also for Actium.

MIC's work involved the strip out of a number of the existing walls and ceilings in order to incorporate a new en-suite Bathroom and re-arrange the entrances to the drawing and dining rooms.

The contract included all the Mechanical & Electrical, re-decorating throughout, stone and marble work including the new fireplace, staining and polishing of the existing doors and floors and altering of the walls to incorporate sliding pocket doors and ceilings. MIC also undertook all the specialist joinery and metalwork, a speciality of ours; this included the wardrobes, bar, shelving unit, study units, TV Wall and dining table. MIC also replaced all the kitchen doors with new high gloss polyester panels.

As Lancelot Place is a highly prestigious apartment block, careful consideration had to be given at all times whilst carrying out this project, to ensure that residents were not affected in any way; keeping noise to a minimum and general protection given to all areas. Taking this into account MIC's work was delivered on time, on budget and to exacting standards.

Gloucester Road (Palace Gate)

MIC were delighted to win the complete fit-out at a Grade 2 listed apartment in Palace Gate for Kelly Hoppen Interiors.

The contract consisted of a total refurbishment to all areas of a 3 storey apartment including new bathrooms and kitchen, MIC undertook the decoration, flooring, electrical / lighting, plumbing, stone and marble work, glass / mirroring and the full AV. We also undertook the manufacture and installation of all the specialist joinery to the Bathrooms, Bedrooms, Living room cabinets/bookcases etc.

Country Cottage

MIC constructed a wonderful glass steel box to the outside of this grade 2 listed cottage incorporating a Bulthaup kitchen.

MIC also did the the re-decoration to the whole house including electrical/lighting and flooring, we also manufactured the Study bookcases and the Dining table in 1 piece of aged oak with stainless steel legs. MIC also undertook the new Garage doors and windows.

The specialist joinery to the counters include the use of laminates, stainless steel work, solid surface material with LED lighting set into the front to create a unique design and ribbed h/w  all manufactured in-house.

Century House

Novotel

Following the successful completion of a range of fit-out projects for Accor Hotels, MIC won this substantial contract to undertake work at Novotel in Bristol.

MIC worked closely with long-time associates, the Manchester architects and designers Leach Rhode Walker, on an 18-month refurbishment of the hotel reception area, restaurant and bar, followed by the health club/spa and lifts.

The work involved the close co-ordination of a wide range of fit-out sub-contractors from electrical and specialist joinery to tiling, carpeting, bar work, mechanical and plumbing services, specialist metal and glass work and much more.

In the midst of all this, there always had to be a part of the reception, restaurant and bar open to residents. This meant that a considerable amount of 'phasing' was needed to minimise disruption for guests and complete the work on schedule.

Clearly, the project management experience of MIC played a major part in achieving a successful outcome.
